THE PLACE

A 10-acre farmlet since the 1920s.
We now grow 10 ewes and their lambs, ducks and ducklings, chooks and chickens, extensive vegetable, herb and flower gardens, trees and a large pond.
Current owner Kevin returned from teaching and mudbrick work in West Africa. He found this land in his home area to grow food, teach locally and move towards self-sufficiency.
Kevin has tinkered with building in mud, milking sheep and goats, making cheese and salamis, breeding animals and growing vegetables for the table here over the past 30 years.
In 2005, Kevin and Ross refurbished the bacon curing shed into a thoroughly modern and comfortable house, leaving the 5-bedroom original farmhouse available for letting, with the Otago Central Rail Trail literally at the back door.

Kevin, an ex-teacher, gardens , farms and produces fantastic food. Ross an ex-graphic artist and icecream shop owner, paints in oils and water colours. Together they bring you this unique and charming dining and accommodation experience.
