Your Hosts
Alex and John have a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry. In 2007 they took a giant leap and decided to do it for themselves – and Queenstown cheered! They took over Chalet Queenstown in 2007, an iconic Swiss style chalet which was badly in need of some love and attention. In 2008 a major refurbishment was undertaken and the Chalet is now undoubtedly one of the most superior Bed & Breakfast accommodations in New Zealand.

John and Alex also own the Historic Stone House a truly unique property. Built in 1874 for the first Mayor of Queenstown and listed with the New Zealand Heritage Trust. Alex and John have lovingly and sympathetically restored the building – it’s unique, a gem! Traditional architecture now combines with contemporary comforts. 

Alex and John enjoy meeting people from all over the world and guests always comment on the friendly, relaxed ambience they have created at both Chalet Queenstown and the Historic Stone House.
