Look carefully and you might see the Windbourne as she sets sail with sightseers on board, fishing boats leaving the harbour in search of a hopeful catch. Listen carefully and you can hear the sound of the waves on Brophy’s Beach below. Hot Water Beach (with Moko Gallery) and Cathedral Cove are in close proximity to each other and offer a half day visit from your Whitianga base. New Chums beach is world famous yet has also been one of the Coromandel’s best kept secrets. It offers a secluded private aspect with a white sandy beach and a magnificent sea to bask in. You might take a 45 minute drive to Coromandel Town to explore the various shops, galleries and cafes. The Coromandel Smoking Company, open 7 days, sells a wide range of fresh and smoked seafood. Driving Creek Railway boasts a narrow gauge scenic journey for all to enjoy.

Directions: From Auckland take State Highway (SH) 1 on the Southern Motorway to Bombay, turn left onto SH2 and follow the signs to Thames via SH25. Past Kopu at T-junction turn right and very soon left. Keep going till you reach Whitianga, then follow (SH25) until you reach the beach - turn left. Follow Buffalo Beach Rd over two bridges and turn left onto Centennial Drive. Drive all the way up the road and when you reach the summit, turn right around the traffic island into Miro Place. We are situated at 4 Miro Place.
