Totara Vale

Totara Vale was settled in 1873 and was a working farm for a hundred years.

It is now 40 hectares of privacy and seclusion at the end of a gravel road, 300m above sea level with an extensive garden and stunning views.
Russell & Erik have been developing the property over the past 20 years.

We invite you to come and experience natural New Zealand.

From exploring spring fed tumbling mountain streams, 1000 year old alpine rain forest and wild meadows to relaxing on the deck or in the gardens, Totara Vale can be your destination. The abundant bird and insect life provide the chorus to the dramatic landscape and vegetation. You are welcome to be as energetic or chilled as you wish.

With a 25 year background in antiques we open the antique shop in the historic c.1873 hand adzed Totara slab barn, each year for the summer season offering a selection from Victorian to retro. Outside the public days we are open by appointment.

Totara Vale is managed organically, we also host wwoofers (willing workers on organic farms).

Totara Vale opens the Gardens & Antique shop daily from the 27 Dec - 16 Jan 2011, 10am - 5pm. $5 adult entry to the gardens which includes complimentary tea & coffee.
