Highgate Hill Farm is a 2200 acre working farm high in the hills of Wairamarama, 35 mins south of Pukekohe with panoramic views over the Tasman sea. The farm is located only an hours drive from central Auckland and so is just perfect for a getaway from the city or for tourists wanting to experience a piece of rural New Zealand .

Michael and Lloyd, your hosts, run this large farm which is home to over 2000 sheep and 1100 cattle. It is a farm with working dogs, free range chickens and at the right time of year 100s of new lambs and baby calves not to mention the pet animals. Krusty the goat is a must on any itinerary and a visit to see the dogs and chickens is also high up on the list.

Whilst here you are in safe hands as Michael has been a farmer all his life, growing up on a dairy farm in Te Awaumutu until buying his own sheep and beef farm with his partner Lloyd some two years ago. Lloyd also owns a retail design store in London so the house is tastefully furnished he also owned a gastro pub in central London so his home cooked meals are a must.

Guests whilst here can accompany Michael and Lloyd on one of the quad bikes and partake in a farm tour or simply relax with a cocktail by the pool. Alternatively there is a large sun deck with sweeping views through the Wairamarama valley where you can just relax listening to music or read a good book. 
For the energetic there are some good walks to be had or mountain biking over the farm tracks. If possible and convenient you may be able to accompany Michael or Lloyd and get your hands dirty with some stock work.

The kitchen is a modern farmhouse kitchen and the two double rooms and single room are comfortable and clean. There is a shared bathroom with separate shower and WC. The farm house has two living areas, an upstairs mezzanine level with sun deck, stereo and cable TV and a down stairs living room with two sofas, fax machine and a computer for emails. For those of you who have their office with them we have wifi throughout 

This is a working farm and we want our guests to be as relaxed here as we are. You are free to use our house as if it is your own but it is not a hotel. It is a clean, friendly farm house serving good farm house food. We have gum boots and farm clothes that you can wear when out on the farm. 

Included in the package is dinner which will consist of, where possible, organic food from the farm, starter and main. Aperitif and wine or beer is offered with dinner. A cooked breakfast will be served in the kitchen . If staying two nights a courtesy lunch will be supplied. 

So whenever you want to visit us here at Wairamarama may it be the long hot days of summer or the cold log fired nights of winter one thing is certain you will have a warm welcome and a relaxing time.
